The 37th Eisaku Sato Essay Contest Award Winners

The Eisaku Sato Essay Contest is an international competition that was established in memory of the late Eisaku Sato, former Prime Minister of Japan, with the monetary award that he received with his 1974 Nobel Peace Prize. The contest was inaugurated in 1980, and has been held annually since 1990.

Announcement of the 37th Eisaku Sato Essay Contest Award Winners

We would like to announce the winners of the 37th Eisaku Sato Essay Contest. The theme was ”Mr. Beasley, Executive Director, the UN World Food Programme said in TV interview, "This year, 2022, hit the poor due to soaring of food prices caused by dispute, climate changes and COVID-19. It is most likely that food cannot be processed from raise of fuel and fertilizers and food export companies may stop exporting, that lack of food problem may arise. What are your thoughts on food crisis and measures to end the inequality of poverty and famine.” and 19 essays (4 in Japanese, 15 in English) were applied. The award of Brilliance will receive ¥ 200,000 with testimonial and the third ¥ 50,000 each with testimonial.
