From my time asan intern with UN OCHA in Geneva in the summer of 2011, I noticed firsthand someexisting stovepipes in how the challenge of dealing with disasters was addressed.For example, within UN OCHA, there are different organizations that deal withdisaster Preparedness and Response, yet they do not have a direct relationship interms of linking their programs and policies.
