第25回佳作fails to understand - why is the result of poverty in Africa is getting worse year byyear? If the current trend continues, the efforts of UN still remain in doubt until thenext generation. UN today needs long term-visions to make poor people in Africa,self reliable and self-sustainable to survive; rather than making Africa to depend onexternal funds and support. Poverty cannot be alleviated unless the vision of UNstretches beyond one generation. The supports must be implemented by keeping thefuture in mind.4. Self-Empowering ActionsAs many experts view that one of the biggest challenge, in Africa is ridding theregion of chronic rural poverty through a growth strategy that creates opportunitiesof the rural poor to earn a decent income while simultaneously enhancing theircapabilities to take advantages of these opportunities. 8Until now, it is widelydescribed that funds, food aids will help Africa to alleviate poverty. Unfortunatelyrole of temporary packages can do nothing to remove the poverty. There are no welldefinedstrategies to check the real usage of funds or any visible progress whichcan be easily noticed. As most of these monitoring issues goes through the routes ofpolicies and bureaucracy; the ways to address these challenges -is not to make figuresand statistics to meet the goals. But, to train and educate the Africans become selfcapableand self-sufficient in agriculture, manufacturing, managing natural resources,and to involving them into rural training or self-employment programs.
