4.4 Role of the United Nations UniversityAs the United Nations University carries out its work in co-operation with otherresearch institutions, international organizations and scholars throughout the world, itis in an excellent position to take a leading role in peace education. For example, oneof the two main programs of the University titled“Peace and Governance”aims toachieve the“coexistence between peoples having different cultures, languages and socialsystems...and universal human values related to the improvement of the quality oflife.”（UNU Charter Article 1.3）. Within this program, the INCORE sub-program hasbeen established jointly with the University of Ulster. INCORE program specializes inconflict management and resolution via a combination of research, training, and otheractivities which inform and influence national and international organizations workingin the field of conflict resolution（http://www.incore.ulst.ac.uk/）. These programsshould participate actively in studies about peace education related to the Arab-Israeliconflict, and collaborate with other institutions such as UNICEF and the UNRWA.Thiscanbeachievedbytakingthefollowingsteps:（1）Organizing seminars, workshops and field studies including local teachersandstudents.（2）Monitoringandhelpingindevelopingneweducationalprograms.（3）Taking advantage of the wide resources, networking and influences of theUnited Nations University to disseminate information about peace educationaround the world.５．ConclusionThe Middle East peace process has been focused in the international politics withhope to succeed in the reconciliation of the Arab-Israeli conflict.
