The two are not necessarily the intended characteristics of theorganization as it was originally conceived back in 1945. Whatever the reasons mighthave been, by chance or otherwise, both adaptability and innovation have stood outthroughout the UN's evolution, allowing it to make breakthroughs in facing the manyand seemingly daunting tasks, and at the same time, the often much exaggeratedexpectations placed by the common people.“Adaptability and innovation stood out throughout the UN’sevolution, allowing the organization to make the necessarybreakthroughsinfacingthemanyandseeminglydauntingtasks”Peacekeeping Operations(PKO)is probably one of the clearest examples of theUN's adaptability and innovation in maintaining peace and international security.
