It reminded me a little of some papers I had workedon last year. In my sophomore year of high school I was involved with a specialWorld History class called‘Model UN’. In addition to the regular history studies,we each chose one of the organs of the United Nations and studied intensely thecurrent concerns for that group. I think that class probably sparked my interestin the United Nations, and I feel that in writing this essay, I have rekindled thatcuriosity.In the essay I tried to express my opinions as to how the International Communitywill view the UN in this century, and how the two will interact with each other. Iutilized primarily the United Nation’s web site (http://www.un.org), which, after itsrecent renovation, is immensely helpful and informative. I tried to take a look atcurrent issues facing the United Nations, what it is doing to deal with those events,and how these dealings might progress in the 21 st century. I then tied these in withhow they will affect the International Community.I hope that the reader enjoys my essay. I have enjoyed writing it, and feel that I73
