第18回佳作The Palestinian authority textbooks produce antagonism against Israel andIsraelis by stressing that Israel still occupies Palestinian land and subjects Palestinian’sto oppression, abuses Palestinian rights and confiscates the future of Palestinian/Arab children in the name of self defense. Even though the Palestinian Authoritystarted negotiating for peace and coexistence on a political level, it cannot be said thateducation reflects those political changes.(2)ZionismZionism is defined in the Palestinian education curriculum as the aggressivenational liberation movement of the Jews. The Palestinian Authority describesZionism as the most terrible ideology in history and it is clearly stated that Zionism issimilar to Nazism, Fascism, imperialism and racism.The clearest examples of racist belief and racial discrimination in the world areNazism and Zionism.9The establishment of the state of Israel is portrayed not as an authentic Jewishnational movement but as a colonialist anti-Arab plot to split the Arab world. Thoughsimilar to imperialism, Zionism is far worse in the concept of domination.The colonial powers regarded the Zionist Movement as the means for theattainment of their greedy colonial aspirations and saw Palestine as the base forthe setting up of a Jewish state, thus tearing the Arab Homeland asunder andimposing their rule on it in order to exploit its natural resources.
